The Literary Body

An introduction for performers in working with stage directions as somatic choreography. Example: “waits” from Waiting for Godot, by Samuel Beckett, or “examining his foot” from same. Simply knowing the source and author saturates the verb with presence, lineage and memory. Together we will discover where and how language and the body, the word and the wordless, intersect
